Southern Queens Emergency Preparedness Network

In collaboration with over 75+ organizations, 1 One Organization created the Southern Queens Emergency Preparedness Network. Our goal is to ensure that our community is ready for emergencies and equipped to withstand, adapt, and recover. We believe preparedness is key to reducing the impact of disasters.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Teaching families how to create emergency plans, build kits, and understand evacuation procedures.
  • Community Resilience: Helping people become more resilient in the face of emergencies and disasters.
  • Resource Access: Showing how to find and use available resources in times of crisis.
  • Disaster Recovery: Guidance on steps to take after an emergency, including connecting with relief agencies and support services.
  • Health & Safety: Information on staying safe during public health emergencies and natural disasters.

Knowledge is power—especially for immigrants and newcomers. Our Know Your Rights Workshops are designed to empower individuals by sharing educational resources, connecting them with legal aid, and helping them access essential services regardless of immigration status. We cover a wide range of topics to ensure everyone is informed and protected.
